OUYEA Philanthropy Month - November 2018

We're celebrating the Impact of Philanthropy!  In 2017, over 236 young engineering alumni became Philanthropists. By identifying what speaks to us and where we want to carry out our legacy at OU.  November 27th is Giving Tuesday, a national day for charitable giving. (It comes right after Black Friday and Cyber Monday...get it?!) As we gear up for this nationally recognized event, we will be helping you to understand the importance of philanthropy and what your individual role will be. Philanthropy is a life-long investment in the world around you. It's important to start now.

Why is philanthropy important? Donating makes you feel good!  It strengthens your values. It lets you set the example. It's more impactful now than ever before.

What should I do next? Explore the many areas at OU where your gift can make a major impact. Engineering young alumni are not just standing by. We are ready and prepared to make a difference. Every dollar, every min, every idea, that you give makes OU better.   We've highlighted some areas below for you to check out. What is Thousands Strong? It's OU's one and only crowdfunding platform! Here are some Engineering campaigns live this month.  Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Sooner Rover Team  Design Build Fly & Boomer Rocket Team ALL IN  Want to join the 90+ young alumni, students, faculty & staff who have gone ALL IN on Gallogly Hall? You have the opportunity to leave your mark (i.e. your name) in the E-quad and our new "home" for OU Engineering.  Help a student in need  #PayItForward and support a student. You can make a gift here to the general scholarship fund, or set up your own scholarship fund! Talk about changing lives!  Help OU Engineering reach the top! Through the OU Engineering Diversity & Inclusion Program and the OU Women in Engineering Program, we're leading the nation in the importance of diversity and not stopping in this pursuit of excellence!  The Holmes Engineering Leadership Program also leads the way in developing the next generation of great leaders.
